Uganda
Grown in the Rwenzori Mountains of western Uganda, this 100% Arabica coffee is cultivated at elevations between 1,500–2,000 meters above sea level, where cool temperatures and rich mountain soils create ideal conditions for slow cherry development and balanced sweetness.
This coffee is produced by the Busongora North Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative, a farmer-owned and governed organization made up of more than 500 smallholder families. Each member is registered and assigned a unique identification number, ensuring full traceability from farm to export.
Farmers in the cooperative are trained in good agricultural practices that support both quality and sustainability. The coffee is processed at centralized washing stations in Kajole, Kithoma, and Kaswa, where cherries are carefully received, sorted, fermented, and washed before being dried under controlled conditions. Once dried, it is dry milled in Kasese, cupped, and prepared for export.
The cooperative also invests in education and training programs that promote sustainable and organic farming practices. These initiatives are designed to strengthen long-term livelihoods and support farmers in building more resilient, self-sustaining communities.
The result is a full and balanced cup with medium body and notes of brown sugar and caramel, reflecting both the fertile Rwenzori landscape and the care of the farming families who produce it.
