From the highlands of Sidama, Ethiopia, widely recognized as the birthplace of coffee, this lot is grown on small family farms where coffee remains deeply tied to culture, heritage, and daily life. Across Ethiopia, coffee supports the livelihoods of more than 15 million farmers and workers, making it the country’s most important export crop.

At 2,000–2,200 meters above sea level, some of the highest coffee-growing elevations in the world, cherries develop slowly in cool mountain air. These conditions, combined with heirloom varietals native to the region, create exceptional clarity, floral complexity, and vibrant acidity.

Coffee is cultivated by family producers and processed using traditional methods in local cooperative systems. This lot is naturally processed and sun-dried, allowing the fruit to dry intact around the seed. This method enhances sweetness, fruit expression, and aromatic complexity while preserving the region’s signature delicate structure.

The result is a bright and elegant cup with a delicate body, featuring notes of caramel, vanilla, floral aromatics, and mixed berry sweetness, reflecting both Ethiopia’s ancient coffee heritage and the refinement of Sidama’s high-altitude terroir.
